Academy of Robot Programming

News:
The Academy of Robot Programming will open the doors soon.
Until the lessons are made please enjoy the video. It shows a car driven by the new robot ADDISCO, a learning AI driver for the Open Source Motorsport Simulation Speed Dreams.
Developing such a robot driver will be the number one topic of the Academy.
It is an empty driver using the base classes of the new Speed Dreams Robot Framework. So you can imagine what you will get to start of your own development.
But what is a robot driver without it's racing car? Therefore we will discuss how to create such a car and how to setup the physics data to make it drive as wanted.
The car model racing in the video is based on the AC3D car model included in version 6.8 of AC3D and is used by courtesy of Inivis Limited.
For use with Speed Dreams the windows are made transparent and the interior was added to fit the standard.
The physics data is setup in an XML file, containing all specifications for engine, aerodynamic, gearbox, transmission, suspension and all the other details needed to describe the cars behaviour for the simulation.
To fit the needs of Speed Dreams graphics module the 3D modell has to be aligned and scaled in the correct way.
And the positions of the lights defined in the XML file have to match the coordinates of the 3D modell as well.
All this will be discussed here, the lessons are growing step by step.
Enjoy the video, it will show you results of what we will provide here later.
See you later
